Council Member Costa Constantinides delivered his annual State of the District Address on January 30. He discussed his proposals to keep Queens affordable by building at least 500 units of senior affordable housing, and by working legislatively to make property tax management easier. He also proposed improvements to the Astoria Pool complex, including the locker rooms, pool basin, and deck. Constantinides discussed his plans to protect the environment by working to reduce emissions from buildings, encouraging wind energy use, mitigating flooding, and combating the effects of asthma.
