The construction for this $5.2 million project will be carried out by AAH Construction Corporation and is slated to be completed by August 2019.

“This news is greatly welcome throughout College Point and is a huge victory for the neighborhood. These repairs have been urgently needed and I applaud the Parks Department for following through on this community request,” said Council Member Vallone. “I look forward to continuing to work with the College Point community so that the dream of a vibrant MacNeil Park with waterfront accessibility is fully realized.”

“MacNeil Park has long been an essential recreational resource for the College Point community,” said Borough President Katz. “The repairs to the MacNeil Park seawall will enable full access to the park’s waterfront to be restored and make the park an even more enjoyable place to visit. A vibrant waterfront esplanade will become a reality at MacNeil Park once this vitally important seawall repair project is completed.”

“Despite some setbacks, we’ve remained committed to making these much-needed repairs on the MacNeil Seawall, and we’re very happy to announce the start of repairs on 1,550 linear feet of esplanade,” said Queens Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski.  “I’d like to thank Council Member Vallone for his support during this process, and we look forward to walking the waterfront with him on this brand new esplanade in 2019.”
