Clerk Foils Dutch Kills Hotel Rob

By Liz Goff
A determined clerk foiled an early morning holdup at a Dutch Kills hotel on September 29.

Cops said the suspect entered the County Inn and Suites Hotel at 40-34 Crescent Street at about 6:45 a.m. on September 29 with a paper bag on his hand, claiming he was holding a gun.

The alleged gunman threatened to harm the clerk if he refused to hand over cash, police said. When the clerk refused to comply, the suspect ran out of the hotel empty handed, police said.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 30-35-years-old and 5-feet-8-inches tall, with brown hair and a medium-length brown beard. He was wearing a gray jacket and a dark-colored shirt and slacks at the time of the attempted robbery, police said.
