CALDC’s Movies And Music At Astoria Park Wind Down

Central Astoria Local Development Coalition (CALDC) Movies on the Waterfront at Astoria Park continues Monday, August 19 at 8:30 p.m. featuring the film version of the Broadway musical, Annie (rated G).

Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a heartwarming tale about a young, spunky, red haired New York City orphan, who overcomes many obstacles during the Great Depression.

So, grab your blanket or chair and head over to Astoria Park Great Lawn on Shore Boulevard between the Hell Gate Bridge and Astoria Pool.

The CALDC 2013 Movies on the Waterfront will end the summer series on August 26, featuring Juno (rated PG- 13).

All program listings are provisionally funded and subject to change

For your listening pleasure, CALDC invites everyone to come out and enjoy the final performance of their 2013 Waterfront Concert Series with the awesome pop/rock sounds of The Lightyears on Thursday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. also being held on the Great Lawn. Get a dose of uplifting, good-old fashioned pop music with the band’s eclectic set of originals and a few high-energy covers, like a spirited rendition of The Monkees’ “I’m A Believer” that knocked everyone’s socks off in 2010 when The Lightyears first graced Astoria Park’s stage.

There’s no admission fee and no music charge. Just grab a chair and get there early because you won’t want to miss a moment of this live performance!

For title changes or band schedule updates and directions call CALDC at 718-728-7820 or visit www.centralastoria.org.
