Cops Hunt Forest Hills Rapist

Queens detectives are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a would-be rapist whose attack was thwarted by dozens on motorists who scared him off, police said.

Cops said the 35-year-old victim was walking on Queens Boulevard near 72nd Avenue in Forest Hills at about 4:25 a.m. on July 21 when the suspect grabbed her by the wrist, pulled her to the ground and tried to rape her.

The skitterish suspect was scared off by a stream of cars traveling along Queens Boulevard and fled before he attached the woman, police said.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 25-35 years old, police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or click on www.nypdcrimestoppers.com
