Marshall Holds Gay Pride Event At Borough Hall

Queens Borough President Helen Marshall (back row, third from r.) joined with  Councilmembers Jimmy Van Bramer (fourth from r.) and Daniel Dromm (second from r.) in honoring eight leaders from the Queens LGBT community during her 12th annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month event, held in Queens Borough Hall on Wednesday, June 26. The event was coincidentally held on the same day the U.S. Supreme Court issued two decisions supporting same-sex marriage.  The honorees shown in the front row are (l. to r.); Kenneth Pietrobono, artist; Joyce Hunter, research sociologist; Katherine Tabares, Youth Power Project at Make the Road NY, and Bianey Garcia, LGBTQ Justice Project at Make the Road NY.
