Gossip Coffee #Cocktails

The word is out….the newly re-opened Gossip Coffee #Cocktails is back and better than ever serving much more than just great coffee. As the name suggests, a full bar has been added, along with healthy, savory dishes for breakfast, lunch, and now dinner too!

What began as an exceptionally good coffee and pastry shop has reinvented itself into a full-service New York style café serving excellent food all day, along with fabulous cocktails, wine and beer. The cool, retro-modern décor makes the perfect backdrop for the light, fresh fare. Vegetarians and vegans will rejoice in the selections on the menu, and meat eaters will love Gossip Coffee’s dishes too. Whether you stop in for a cappuccino and freshly baked croissant or breakfast empanada filled with egg and bacon and take it to go, or have a leisurely lunch, Gossip Coffee #Cocktails’ bright, inviting space beckons you to sit, relax, and stay a while. The outdoor patio in the back is covered and heated so you can enjoy a meal, cocktails, and conversation with friends at the teak tables and cushioned chairs.

Now you can enjoy dinner too, as Chef Scheyla Acosta works her magic in the kitchen. Try one of her inventive, delicious dishes such as tuna poke salad made with sushi grade ahi tuna, miso eggplant, edamame, cucumber, avocado, baby spinach, and carrot ginger sauce ($13.95). My falafel Mediterranean salad was a generous bowl filled with three light and flavorful falafel patties, creamy house made hummus, tabbouleh parsley tomato salad, quinoa, cucumber, kalamata olives, and sesame tahini dressing, all flanked with toasted triangles of pita bread. This dish is vegan approved and a great choice for anyone wanting a fresh, healthy meal. Another popular item (gluten free and vegetarian) is the Long Island street corn salad, with sweet, roasted corn tossed with avocado, red peppers, radish, cilantro, Mexican cheese, and tortilla chips with creamy lime dressing.

Wrap your hands around a baguette sandwich filled with beef brisket rubbed with coffee for extra tenderness, pickled red onion, caramelized pears, white cabbage, and arugula topped with chimichurri sauce ($13.95). Order an icy cold, Sixpoint Pilsner to go with that or a glass of ruby red cabernet sauvignon. The chicken bahn-mi sandwich is made with marinated chicken breast, pickled carrots and cucumber, cilantro mayo, and hot siracha sauce for a kick. Gossip Coffee’s decadent lobster roll is full of sweet Maine lobster, celery, lemon zest and mayo on a brioche bun and makes any day feel like summer. The smashed chickpea salad sandwich is layered onto seven grain bread with avocado, alfalfa sprouts, tomato, red onion and pickled cucumbers for a healthy sandwich, perfect with a crisp glass of French Rosé or sauvignon blanc.

When it’s time for #cocktails, come right on over where the barman mixes up a stone fruit Negroni with a touch of peach, a lemon thyme sour, or the popular Rosemary’s Daisy, with white tequila, rosemary, lime, and a touch of agave for sweetness. They even make coffee-based cocktails with their fabulous coffee such as the cold brew Americano cocktail with cold brewed coffee, vermouth and a touch of cream. The espresso martini will pick you up and relax you at the same time! There are even socially responsible “Driver Drinks” without alcohol so everyone can join in the fun.

Gossip Coffee started with coffee and indeed they haven’t strayed from their caffeinated principles. Enjoy a freshly brewed espresso, cappuccino, latte, Gotham mocha, Gotham hot chocolate, cold brews, and a variety of cold coffee drinks, iced teas, matcha, and much more. Pair one up with a breakfast sandwich of egg, avocado, bacon, jam, and tomato on a semolina roll or a spinach and leek egg white frittata. Breakfast items can be packed up to go on your way to the train, or sit and relax on the mid-century chairs, tables, and upholstered furniture. Surf away on the free wifi while you enjoy a slice of chocolate cake or a cookie the size of a scone. These hefty cookies come in chocolate chip, pumpkin cheesecake, chocolate with a melted center, or the pink unicorn variety.

A relaxing brunch is served on the weekends where Mimosas and brunch cocktails go very well with The Manhasset, which combines scrambled eggs with haloumi cheese, spinach, roasted peppers, tomato and basil on toast. Crème brulee French toast is baked and served with fine ice cream and fresh blueberries, perfect for the bubbles in a Mimosa. For a unique brunch item, try “Avodaise” eggs Benedict BLT composed of poached eggs, maple bacon, tender watercress, and tomato topped with avocado Hollandaise sauce on a flaky brioche bun, perfect with a Bloody Mary. All breakfast items are available for brunch as well so you can always have your favorites. Gossip Coffee #Cocktails is open seven days a week for coffee, breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, and cocktails from 7am to 11pm on weeknights and until 1am on Friday and Saturday for everyone’s enjoyment. We can’t keep it a secret….spread the word about the newly reopened Gossip Coffee #Cocktails and see what everyone’s talking about.
